ABOUT THE ORDER
What we are:
The Esoteric Order of Dagon works with the Yog-Sothothery of H.P. Lovecraft and related areas and authors in mystical and magical ways. The Orders name is derived from the story 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth' (acronym SOI) written by H.P Lovecraft in November–December 1931. This story also outlines our alchemical path of inner development. There are others who use the same name but we are not affiliated with them or any other Order as we prefer to do things OUR way.
What we are not:
We are not connected to freemasonry in ANY way. In SOI it's cleary stated that E.O.D "soon came to be the greatest influence in the town, REPLACING Freemasonry altogether" with something else and the church was replaced too. We are working with this from a deeper and stranger angle. This rules out any interest in for example Thelema. We don't have any interest in trying to connect Lovecraft's work to the work of Aleister Crowley or work derrived from that. If thats your angle please search somewhere else. To us the Abyss or Abzu is more than a qlippothic slimepool. In Sumerian and Akkadian mythology it referred to the primeval sea of freshwater that both gives life and cleanses at the same time. It represent the dark and unexplored inner world. We swim in and explore those eternal astral waters of Father Dagon and Mother Hydra.

We do not actively seek new members. Members are expected to seek us out instead. Previous members that have lost contact with us for any reason but wants to rejoin have to resubmit a membership application.
